Jonathan Adams is a lawyer practicing in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He handles corporate and real estate transactions, commercial issues, and estates matters of all natures.

He is passionate about understanding clients’ business interests and finding comprehensive solutions to their issues. He represents clients starting businesses by providing advice on share structuring, option plans, and shareholder agreements. He also supports clients with corporate transactions, including financings, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganizations. Jonathan assists with real estate transactions, including residential and commercial financing agreements and conveyancing. He also advises on estate planning law including preparation of wills, enduring powers of attorney, and personal care directives.

He attended law school at the University of New Brunswick, where he was President of the Black Law Students’ Association, President of the French Club, and volunteered for the Pro Bono Wills Program. Following law school, he articled and worked with a Halifax law firm before starting J. Adams Law in 2025.

​

Prior to attending law school Jonathan worked as an IRROC registered investment and insurance advisor, and securities trader. Outside of legal practice Jonathan is a keen cyclist, skier, and canoe-camper, and loves yoga, when he isn’t on the move.
